Arctic Day Dreaming

We woke up to sunshine, a new blanket of snow and a promise of warm days to follow. I better get the cross country skis out before this melts away!

I'm going to pretend I'm in the Arctic, shooshing by the blue ice mountains, keeping my eye out for a shy arctic fox. Maybe I will see one today...

Lovely little artctic fox, is that scraperboard? Brilliant. Is it so snowy with you? We have had sunshine today, but cold, sunny again tomorrow, I am glad to say!!!I still need to get some scraperboard, there are some new crayons on Jacksonart website which can create a similar effect, I'm tempted to try them? Nice to see your blog :)

Thanks Julie- I've had a run of heavy studio work in combination with school vacation days for daughter Lucy, and am amazed to see I've not blogged for a couple weeks! I do miss it when I don't.

Arctic fox is scaperboard-I love foxes of all kinds.

I'll check out the crayons you mentioned.

A snowy, dazzling day- it's cold, but nice to see the sun. I must get a walk in and shake out the cobwebs. Next, I'll come visit your blog and see what you've been up to. Night-night over there!

Thanks for leaving me a comment, I think the art sticks are called Derwent art bars, they are waterclour, but go on thick as a crayon, then you can go over the top with a darker colour and scratch through, they are triangular! Look interesting?? Have fun in the snow :)

The busy soft fur works so well against the soft-wash background. Nice 'smile' too!

Thanks Bella! All white or all black fur can be tough to portray for me.
