I'm still finding colored pencil work uplifting right now. Any type of free-hand sketching "greases the skids" for further creative work. This is of a dear little wooden shoe with candy cane nest and white pine sprig. I loved studying the way the wood carver shaved the wood. Simple and loving.
Claudia, I love the way this image and the one before compliment each other! Your technique with colored pencils is so beautiful--- seems to mimic your 'scratching', but with color--- lovely!

ReplyDeleteIt is weird how different mediums rendered by the same creator follow a simila style. Like your jewelry and your illos. Like Grant Wood's paintings and his sculptures!
