Hand-Warming Art

I love working occasionally with The Java House here in Iowa City and making special art for their to-go cups and new coffee blend logos and such. A new to-go cup just came out, so here's the reveal (the top image is how the art looks all flattened out before the cup printers get it). Even though I've been at this illustration game for a while, it is always a thrill to see a finished printed job!

So if you are in the Iowa City area and had a hankering for a great cup of coffee this morning, my art may be warming your beverage this very moment...

WINTER BEGINNINGS

A friend said to me "artists exist to remind others to be observant." She thought this after her daughter had seen a red cardinal in the bare tree branches and said it looked like "one of Claudia's bird pictures." I loved that. In a nutshell, it really is my reason to be as an artist.
